7:31 The colour of the contacts is likely simply down to the contacts and a bit of colour correction, but what I think makes them pop is the ringlight. The reflected light in the pupil really catches you and makes you focus on their eyes more. Off the top of my head, another good example is in the hallway shots in Natalies Rap 2.0 by Lonely Island. Natalies eyes dont stick out at all except in those shots.
